Damian Collins is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Alberta. He is interested in the social and economic vibrancy of public spaces in Winter Cities, and in fostering opportunities for winter recreation within urban areas.
He has contributed to research on the history and development of the Winter City movement, and the role of festivals in Winter City place-making. Damian is also concerned for the effects of winter conditions on people experiencing homelessness.
