Urbanism Lab
National Capital Commission, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
The National Capital Commission (NCC) in Ottawa is planning an “Urbanism Lab” devoted to the topic of Winter Cities. The Urbanism Lab features lectures, workshops or just gathering to share ideas on urban design, architecture and planning. The NCC will host this event during the Winterlude, a capital winter festival, which includes skating on Rideau Canal, officially the world’s largest skating rink. The tentative date for the Urbanism Lab event is Thursday, February 12. It will include a workshop for the staff in the morning and a public panel discussion in the evening. The panelists include Patrick Coleman of the Winter Cities Institite, a renowned architect and NCC ACPDR member Vivian Manasc, as well as an expert from a Nordic country, and a researcher from a local university. Watch for more information in the near future about this opportunity.
